Northbound is Marcus Reid and a small team of designers, strategists, and developers. Small on purpose, because it makes the work better.
How we started.
Marcus started Northbound in 2020 after years as a senior at a large European agency. Good work, slow machine. He’d watched strong ideas get watered down across too many review cycles, and clients get passed between account managers who barely knew the brief.
He wanted to build somewhere that strong ideas could get to market fast, and where clients worked directly with the people making decisions. That’s still how we operate today. No layers, no handoffs, no one hiding behind a process doc. You talk to us, and we build it.
What drives the work.
A few things we won’t compromise on, no matter the project or the deadline.
Direct over polished.
We'd rather have an honest conversation than a smooth pitch. If something isn't working, we say it early and clearly, before time and money go in the wrong direction. You'll always know where the project stands, what decisions were made, and why. No polished updates that hide the real picture.
Speed with intention.
Fast doesn't mean careless. When we move quickly, it's because we've already done the thinking behind the decision. We don't rush to look responsive, we rush because we know what we're doing. Every week of delay is a week your competitors show up where you don't.
You own the result.
We build in Framer so you can manage, update, and grow your site without a developer on call. Every project ends with a handover session and documentation you can actually use. We're not interested in keeping the keys. The goal is to set you up to move independently.
